PRISM – Terms & Conditions

Welcome to PRISM, a digital wellbeing platform operated by LGBTQiA Health (Pty) Ltd, a registered private company in South Africa, based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
By accessing or using PRISM (the “Platform”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you don’t agree that’s okay but you may not use the Platform.
No pressure. No tricks.
1. Who We Are
PRISM is owned and operated by:
LGBTQiA Health (Pty) Ltd
Registered in the Republic of South Africa
Business location: Durban, KwaZulu-Natal
PRISM exists to provide supportive, reflective, and educational experiences not diagnosis, not treatment, not control.
2. What PRISM Is (and Is Not)
PRISM is:
- A supportive, reflective, non-judgmental digital space
- An educational and self-understanding platform
- A tool for personal insight, grounding, and gentle guidance
PRISM is not:
- A medical service
- A mental health clinic
- A crisis intervention service
- A replacement for therapy, counselling, or emergency care
Nothing on PRISM should be understood as medical, psychological, psychiatric, or legal advice.
3. Eligibility & Use
You must:
- Be 13 years or older to use PRISM
- Use the Platform lawfully and respectfully
- Use PRISM for personal, non-commercial purposes only
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if these Terms are violated.
4. Account & Anonymity
PRISM is built with privacy first.
- Accounts may be created using minimal information (email/password or equivalent)
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure
- You may delete your account at any time using in-app controls
- Once deleted, your data is permanently removed, except where retention is legally required.
We cannot recover deleted accounts.
5. AI-Powered Features
PRISM uses AI-based systems to provide reflections, prompts, and conversational support.
Important boundaries:
- AI responses are not human
- AI does not diagnose
- AI does not provide crisis intervention
- AI outputs are informational and reflective only
You understand and accept that:
- AI may be imperfect
- AI responses should not be relied upon for medical or emergency decisions
6. Crisis & Emergency Disclaimer
PRISM is not designed for emergencies.
If you are in immediate danger or experiencing a crisis:
- Contact local emergency services
- Reach out to a trusted person
- Use recognised crisis hotlines in your country
PRISM may provide resources, but cannot intervene.
7. Paid Features & Subscriptions
Some features of PRISM may be free. Others may require payment.
By purchasing a paid feature or subscription, you agree that:
- Prices are clearly displayed before purchase
- Payments are processed via secure third-party providers
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
- Refunds are subject to applicable consumer laws and platform policies
You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your account settings.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on PRISM including text, design, prompts, branding, and software belongs to LGBTQiA Health (Pty) Ltd or its licensors.
You may not:
- Copy
- Reproduce
- Sell
- Reverse-engineer
- Redistribute
...any part of PRISM without written permission.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or harm others
- Attempt to identify or deanonymise users
- Upload malicious code or misuse the Platform
- Use PRISM for political manipulation, exploitation, or abuse
PRISM is a safe space not a free-for-all.
10. Data & Privacy
Your privacy matters.
Use of PRISM is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains:
- What data we collect
- Why we collect it
- How it is stored and protected
- Your rights under South African law (POPIA)
We do not sell personal data.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
LGBTQiA Health (Pty) Ltd is not liable for:
- Decisions you make based on PRISM content
- Emotional distress arising from personal reflection
- Interruptions, bugs, or data loss
- Third-party services or links
You use PRISM at your own discretion.
12. Changes to the Platform or Terms
We may:
- Update features
- Modify or discontinue parts of PRISM
- Update these Terms when necessary
When changes are material, we’ll make reasonable efforts to notify users.
Continued use = acceptance.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any disputes will be subject to South African jurisdiction.
